my tumblr wishlist
a queue that works. this means that the posts should be released in order, at intervals i set. this should adjust to account for interim posts that do not come from the queue, things added to the queue, and things moved to the top of the queue.
a bookmarklet that works more efficiently. i do most of my posting through the bookmarklet. currently, it still strips all formatting from copied text, including removing the link information from copied links. this means it requires a lot of extra fussing or re-cutting and re-pasting the text each time to avoid having to re-insert the links one by one.
accurate post counts. how many posts are in my drafts? or in my queue? i have no real idea unless i go in and do a manual count, because the indicators next to the folders are wrong about 90% of the time. this includes the red bubble indicating my number of unread posts, which often indicates unread posts when there aren’t any and significantly undercounts unread posts when they do exist.
a way to send direct messages. currently, we’re using the “ask” feature as a bootleg way to send direct messages to each other, for times when people don’t post an email address or we’re just lazy. perhaps there’s an easier way to do this?
free ponies for everyone. as long as we’re dreamin’ big.
Here’s mine:
A way to edit the HTML of a quote in rich text. You can put HTML tags in a quote post and have it work, but it’s not immediately obvious.
Font/Rich Text errors to be fixed in Ubuntu. Sometimes the italics and bold get all weird in Ubuntu and I have to manually edit the HTML to get it to work.
Events as a type of post. Name, date, time, venue (Google Maps?), info. And maybe a calendar to go with it. That would make my life 1000000x easier.
Quote, source, and comments separated out. They look really messy at the moment especially when reblogged.
The “someone has followed you” emails to be more descriptive. So far it just has the other person’s username in the title, and a pithy word. That’s it. It would be great to have a direct URL of the follower, their bio, and details on WHICH Tumblr they followed (if you ran more than one).
The ability to reblog other people’s answered questions. Right now it involves a messy workaround (post as link or quote).
Clear out all “span” tags and/or paste without formatting. Bold, italic, links, bullets are useful, but other than that it is a HUGE mess to clear up. urgh.
